Mike, it's interesting to note that Warren states the sound quality does not seem as good as the early prototypes, and top of being heavier apparently. Do you have the same experience of the early prototype vs. the production model?

I hope that the final tuning on the production model is as good as the prototype that Warren heard months ago.
 
It's weird that sound quality was not as good on the prototype that they had at the CES ?
 
Maybe they realized before the CES that it was in their interest to degrade the sound quality of the EL-8 a little bit to avoid impacting the LCD-2 sales ?

The difference on the pre fazor was night and day....

Right, I meant compairing post fazor LCD2s vs post fazor LCD3s, I'm wondering if the extra thousand dollar is worthwhile for simple leisure listening. I have a HD800 for my critical listening needs..

That one is really really easy... CES has a fixed date... And they wanted to have these headphones there for the announcement and release.

Plus ces is a noisy listening environment

^exactly. Audeze could've shown el8's without drivers in them and still create a huge buzz in the head-fi community.
