I saw your (impressive) gear list: how do you like the Deckard with the EL8s? and with HPs in general?
(and any particular reason you chose the Ether Cs over the Foster Th900s?)

The Deckard is a very underrated amp imo-drives just about anything and it's great with the EL-8. I bought it after hearing it at Can Jam London.
I got Ether C's because I already had Th600's that I was pretty satisfied with and I pretty much preferred them to the TH900..........TH900 had more bass and more treble, but in the end I felt the 600 was better balanced, even though it had less detail. If I had to make a choice between Ether C and TH900 though, I'd take the 900 because Ether C doesn't have any weight in the bass. More clarity and better soundstage than the TH900 although they are very close in both departments.
Using sine generator I can hear a small dip @ 6300hz and a bigger one at 7000hz. That could just be my hearing and not the headphones, but other than that they're pretty flat from what I can tell (and respond well to EQ).

Good to hear some feedback re the Deckard. I've never actually heard anyone reference it in the forums.
Then Audeze' next amp produced was/is the King.
Hhhmmmm. $700 (Deckard) vs $4000 (King).
I've been thinking that the Deckard sales seemed low b/c they
didn't cost enough to get the attention of Audeze HP owners!
Maybe a $4000 amp will get their/our/my attention!?!?

The first option comes out to be $100 and the second $125. Are there any cheaper cables or adapters out there or are these my only two choices?
If these are my only two choices, which do you think is the best route? The adapter I may find a use for in the future, but the custom cable may perform better?
This is 100% my personal preference, but I would go the solid cable over cable+adapter just because I like having has few "connector points" as possible. Less stuff that can loosen over time. I've had too many cable adapters that started to cut out for whatever reason.
BTW anyone have any idea what a decent cheap-ish IEM would be that has a similar sound signature to these? Just want something for in the gym so it doesn't need to be amazing, just in the ballpark.

Have you heard plusSound audio cables? I've had multiple cables from them and it is awesome! they had plenty of cable options -wires, connectors, styles and colors. Totally recommended..check it out! http://www.plussoundaudio.com/
