I'm going to be putting up my CRBN for sale this weekend if anyone is interested. It's basically in mint condition as Audeze gave me a brand new replacement in September due to a fault with my original pair and this new pair has no infamous stax farts that plagued the early units. I'll be asking for £2,200 and the ad, pictures will be up this weekend on classifieds.

I'm selling them as I just got the Stax 007 MK1 and they are more suited to my type of sound signature.
I have joined the thread! :L3000:

I'm loving the sound so far. The instrument separation and imaging are particularly awesome on the CRBN, and the bass is out of this world for an e-stat headphone. There is actually sub-bass, which is a far cry from my Lambda-series headphones!

I'm sending off my CRBN to be upgraded tomorrow, so tonight is my last night listening to it. Going to try and burn it into my memory best I can so I can compare when it gets back.

Part of me is tempted to buy a used CBRN so I can have both at the same time, plugged into my Carbon amp(my amp has two jacks) and compare them. That is a bit ridiculous I realize lol

Sounds ridiculous, but it's really not in terms of trying to reduce hype/buyer justification bias isn't a key factor in driving when it comes to similar signatures, next iteration products, etc. But obviously it's costly and just may be doing too much lol, and not really needed to perceive something as upgrade worthy.

But I would recommend to pick a few key songs and write down the pros and cons of how you hear it with the CRBN. Rate them even, and use the same process after settled in a bit with the upgraded CRBN 2. Won't reliably prove anything but may be helpful in addition to memory alone.

I will also be sending mine tomorrow since I need to make sure I get the shipping right and I'm busy tonight. I was having trouble getting UPS to charge me for duties instead of Audeze so I will just go directly to a UPS store instead

Trump tariffs go into effect today, make sure to indicate it is a repair on the customs form. You may have to pay +25% to get them back. 21 days from now headphones will be included in Canadian retaliatory tariffs. Not sure what value Audeze will declare when returning them, but it could be a big hit. Hope the turnaround time is quick and you can avoid this. Good luck.

Dropped mine off at UPS. The lady at the counter said they are having massive delays with UPS ground, but I didn't want to pay $600 for air (would be 2 day delivery guarantee with a higher insured amount) so I took ground for $80 we'll see what happens (shows mid next week delivery)

Yeesh $600? I don't recall how much I paid the first time I sent my CRBN to Audeze. I asked to have it sent back to me air, and said I would pay for the shipping but they went and send it back ground anyway. Doh. Oh well. Waited this long. Dropping mine off after work.

I guess I should have said CAD and that would be with the item mostly insured vs ground being just under a thousand insured for me

I'm in Vaughan and used to live in Toronto. I just really want the new venting system and I EQ bass already so the bass boost should be enough for me to not need to do that anymore or at least do less of a EQ to give me more headroom on the amps I use.

I just feel that if you were willing to buy a flagship already you should be willing to do this kind of upgrade. Tariffs is a possible issue. I'm not sure if it will apply if the device is a rma/repair since it's not technically a new purchase per customs

I sent my LCD-4's (for new drivers) to Audeze back in mid-January by UPS Ground and it took 6 calendar days to get there from Houston.

Dropped off at UPS :)

I did 3-Day ground. Hopefully the turn around isn't long

It did take Audeze 21 days after they received the LCD-4's before they contacted me and started working on them. (Supposed to get them back tomorrow!)

I've never heard the LCD-4 and I'm a bass head so I think I would love it.

Audeze had my CRBN last summer. They got it back to me pretty quick. Wasn't 21 days.
