only if the hiss is due to sensitvity.
worked for my when i used my denon ah-d7000 with my old solo amp.

Oh, I'm sorry i meant hisses as per sibilates, there was no background noise, just more pronunced ssss :).
The reason for the sibilance is... unknown :) I mean why it's more pronounced with certain amps. We know most amps have a basically flat frequency response and totally flat in the "sibilance range" (which i believe is around 4-6khz), so this remains a mystery :)

I got a pair of these comming up. Hope they will be a nice supplement to my t70, and a good match with isabellina dac/amp :)

from what i've read here, it should indeed be more comfy with the l3000 pads. also the sound should be a little different (better?). i'll post my impressions here along the way. hope they arrive soon:)

The L3000 pads are more comfortable than the pleather pads that come with the W1000X.  Not sure if I noticed any differences in sound, though, maybe a better seal as they are softer and conforms better with the area around your ears.

Just wanted to throw some love out there for this HP.

I demoed it at a magnolia for a good 30 min sesh and I must say it is the first non-portable headphone I have considered purchasing since my SP-1 purchase years ago... and I definitely am not in the market for a desk HP b/c I adore the SP-1.

Really loved what I was hearing from the W1000X.

Indeed the pads are not soft at all. How much the L3000 pads sell for (if they are still available)?

100$ at audiocubes2. haven't tried them yet as they are being recabled at the moment...

That's where I got mine - not cheap but they are very soft and they look much nicer than the stock pads...  They are similar (probably identical) to the pads on the w3000anv IIRC (I sold those awhile back but kept the w1000x).

I think the L3000 pads are a bit softer than the W3000ANV's stock pads.  The leather is a bit thicker and more supple.  I've been tempted to take the L3000 pads off my W1000X (which I haven't used in a while) and swap them onto the W3000ANV, but I've been reluctant to mess with them.

Now I got my pair recabled with 8 wire cryo copper, and I got the L3000 pads too! I enjoy it even more now. Not sure about changes in sound. The pads really don' change the sound, but the cable might have tightened it up a bit. And I feel it has become a tiny bit brighter overall.
