Personally i think the presentation on the Sony headphones adds more detail to rock/metal songs, for bassy stuff i'd get the M50.

I like the ZX700 less and less the more I use it. It sounds muffled and congested and as soon as you compare it to something else you realize the tonality is way off. Very disappointing. My $40 Beyerdynamic DT 235 bests it handily in every way aside from comfort.
