I listen to primarily House, dubstep, drum and bass, techno, and electronica. I'm quite a bass head, but after using my current headphones, the sony xb 500, I've decided I want cleaner bass, and warm mids and highs. Can I hear some opinions for all these?
Hear are some examples of the kind of music I listen to:

I'm new to Head-fi, and I lack the correct knowledge of the terminology to quite explain what I'm looking for. Basically sony xb-500s have decent bass, but extremely recessed mids and highs. I would like to have Quality, tight, accurate bass, but at the same time have mids that sound non-recessed with highs that are I guess shiny would be the word for it.

Look into the Ultrasone HFI-580, they have quite better bass quality, not bleeding into the rest of the frequency range. The ATH-PRO700MK2 have more emphasized bass than the HFI-580, but it's of lower quality when compared to Ultrasones, and the rest of the frequency range isn't that great, in all honesty.

Yes, the HFI-780 are technically better headphones, but you might find the HFI-580's stronger bass presence more pleasant.

I find the DT770 to be both darker sounding and less detailed.

Even though I know you're saying it in comparison to the Ultrasone, gotta say, it's interesting to see the word "dark" and "DT770" together.

Very best,

Well, they're not TMA-1 dark, but certainly far from bright

Beyerdynamic has neutral and bright sounding offerings, but the DT770 isn't one of them.

I'm stuck between the Ath-m50, Ath PRO700MK2, and the HFI-580/780, I primarily listen to bass-dominant music, but I occasionally listen to a bit of rock, and electronic music, any ideas on what I should choose?
