Suddenly sound stopped coming from the left cup, after a while I figured it was because the wiring inside the rubber broke by the male connector. I opened the cable and found out that was the case. Unfortunately it happened so close to the connector that I had to buy a new one to attempt to repair it, so I bought a different cable and thought I would just twist the wires together, tape it with some electrical tape and it would be fine.

It wasn't fine, doing that didn't work. The ESW10 are now completely useless.

Could anyone give me advice on how to fix them?

Here's a picture of what the cable looks like cut open:

Any ideas would be very appreciated!

Why don't you just call Audio Technica and send them in for repair? I've done that twice for my ESW-9's and they were most accomodating. Or you can take the opportunity to have Drew at Moon Audio recable your 10's with Blue Dragon:)

That's a brilliant idea, as I had a friend buy them for me while he was over in Japan I never considered I would have that sort of option. I've sent them an email and waiting to hear what they say.

Sending them over to Moon Audio unfortunately isn't an option as I live in the UK.
