Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player

Audio46 has the SR15 on sale for $469 ... I’m interested if the SR15 has the side loading feature so I can use the Radio Paradise app playing lossless files. That will be the primary use. If not, I’m interested in the SR25 for the same function.

SR15 does allow sideloading of apps, but Radio Paradise currently is not supported on any AK player with OpenApp.

Thank you for clarifying this. I’ll keep looking ...

For anybody who is interested, I did a second battery test with SR25. Figured, after a few charge/discharge cycles the battery will be properly calibrated.

It was the same test as before, playing 24bit/48kHz high res FLAC in a loop, 2.5mm balanced output, average sensitivity/impedance IEMs, at normal listening volume level of 50. The screen was off most of the time, just periodically checking the battery status, and Wifi/BT/EQ was off. This time it lasted 22hrs 25min on a single charge!

safe to then say that it outlasts the ZX507 i presume?

I will complain about lack of Bluetooth 5.0 but tbh if I had 700$ to spend I would get one because it ticks few boxes I care about: it has Cirrus Logic and I like DACs from them, it's small enough to fit in the pocket and battery life is good, actually better than most of the competition. The only question is how fast UI is since Android is sluggish on low end spec.
