The easiest way I can explain is the highs are shrill and can sound muddled no separation.

Interesting. For me, I would also like more separation and clarity in the highs, but I find them too soft. I could do with more sparkling, even piercing highs. Then again, I'm using DSD which tends to smooth out the highs over PCM.

yes, it is possible if you have the FW hex file. If the SP2000 is new, you will not be able to return to the original mode. The 1.18 hexfile can be found here in the forum, i.e. you can go from 1.19 to 1.18 agt this moment, nothing more.

My 2000ob came with 1.16 when I purchased and I upgraded to 1.19,

Yeah so I'm confused. My sp2000 is coming today, which firmware is supposed to be the best sounding?

i heard 1.10 (the original) when got my sp2000 and it was amazing, then i went straight to 1.19 angry and went back to 1.18, if i were you, i would not upgrade....i hope AK fix this issue and 1.20 has the same dynamics as 1.10

So it's an open box unit.... I assume with factory reset the original 1.1 will be installed....

Here it is. Copy the update.hex to the root folder and the update process will be started immediately.

Hi, Jason. It would be better to share with the community previous firmwares. As all we know that the reverting back is possible

P.S. Cause the clicking issue on the previous firmwares is extremely annoying for me and the sound of 1.19 is a kind of crap, imho, I figured out that the only way to live with the music is... to buy back Cayin N8 while FW1.20 is under development.

JasonNYC I consider that the previous firmware files should not be shared and it should not be allowed to downgrade. Allowing this will open our Daps to insecurity, virus and other bugs issues. update usually comes to improve the use of the DAP and fix problems.
