SP2000 + Stellia is such a freaking killer combo.
True. But I still prefer IEMs with SP2K because getting the full potential of Stellia needs a desktop amplifier to me. Another point is that my use of SP2K is for my long commute. I don't want to wear Stellia on any of the public transports in NYC.

@Jason NYC

Dear Jason,

I’m owner of the SP 1000. Regrettably this Player has not an enough WiFi connection in our house.
Now I‘m considering to buy a newer AK player with a better wifi modul, especially for streaming.
For example the activo ct 10 already has a better wifi modul than the SP 1000. I would like to purchase an AK SA700 or an AK SP 2000 and need confirmation if the SA700 and the SP 2000 have the same WiFi-modul as the Sp 1000 and the activo ct 10 or a better one.

Thanks in advance.

Wifi has been upgraded in the SP2000. You should see some improvement. But it might be cheaper for you to get a better router or mesh network (like Orbi) for your home wifi... unless you want to upgrade to the SP2000 for other reasons.

How would you say that the sp2000 compares to hugo2 with the stellia?
Thanks

That’s a tough comparison. The Hugo 2 DAC itself is likely better – instrument separation and transients in particular. But the amp section of SP2000 is better. Both for sensitive IEMs and more power hungry balanced headphones

Hi, I am wondering what's different among stainless, onyx black and copper version ?
I can find comparison between SS and CU version but I cannot find black version. Some said that it's different from other two as well ??

As far as I’m aware, the Onyx Black version is simply stainless steel coated in black. So it should sound identical to SS.

Onyx Black is a stainless steel body with a black PVD coating, so sound signature is the same as the stainless steel.

SP2000 is the first AK player to support dual-band 2.4/5ghz a/b/c/n/ac wifi. The internal wifi antenna was also redesigned to provide greater range.

Sp2000 and Final D8000 make a fantastic combo! Drives them very well, even out of single ended to my surprise.
Drives them better than the Focals to my ears, strangely enough, even despite the sensitivity and impedance ratings. No 'pro' version for demo.

Focals seem very picky of upstream, i enjoyed the stellia out of a Bryston BHA-1 balanced, but not so much straight from DAP.
Post owning kse1200 which was like torture with its treble peak and attack, i cant do harsh sound anymore. If it's not relaxing, its not for me. But D8000 was great, not considering the ridiculous price.

@jmills8 Nice rec
