Make sure you pick up a 1 TB micros Sd card and a Gorilla screen cover and you are all set to go.

We are almost on the same journey. 240SS, 380CU, SP2000CU, Erlkonig, HaHa

I actually don’t mind the oxidation, every three months I will polish my 380CU and it becomes brand new again.
So you already have the SP2000cu at home? How is it?

Mm.....actually been eyeing the SP series since 2017....and an AK fan since the 240. So, not really an impulse purchase. Been eyeing the Focal Stellia since I fell in love with the Focal Utopia in 2016. Check the Utopia thread and I posted way back that Focal should release a closed-back Utopia. So not an impulse purchase.

As for the Erlkonig and DMP Z1, been looking since 2017 for a truly end-game in ear system to match or approximate the pleasure I get from listening to my HE 1 (purchased 2017)...a portable version. So, not an impulse purchase.

Every decision I make is deliberate.

Oh man, you never purchased anything on impulses? You miss out one of life’s fine pleasures.

As for truly end-game system, I am afraid after you get use to the Erlkonig +SP2000, I might see a HE-1 in the forsale forum:wink: The dynamic is hard for HE-1 to match.

You seem to have your whole life planned out. Hahaha. How are you enjoying the SP2000?

Mm...I will bequeath my HE1 to my furkid....a poodle, Chealsea. :deadhorse:

My Erlkonig silver cable is terminated 4.4 mm. So I had to buy a 2.5 mm silver cable Made in Japan. No available 4.4 to 2.5 mm adaptor. No songs yet except for a couple of preloaded songs. From what I can hear, the SP 2000 cu just puts to shame my Ak380 cu. Night and day difference. Gloriously open, transparent, musical sound. Soundstage is huge.

I auditioned in HK the SP 1000 cu and SS and the SP 1000M in 2017 and 2018. From memory and if I had to make a spot judgment, the difference in SQ is not huge (SP1K cu vs. SP2Kcu).....maybe the later is more refined sounding.

Need much more time to listen and settle down.

Why did you choose the Cu version?

Mm..exercised my spot judgment in the absence of demo units for both the cu and SS. I ve always preferred the warmer sound of the cu of the AK 380 (owner) and the cu of the SP 1000 (extensively auditioned) over the SS versions of both.

Part experience with and part leap of faith.

First mistake my friend. You should have kept the stock 2.5 pure silver cable with its connector. It is very good. I tried a very very good heavy gauge pure silver after market cable and ended up going back to the stock cable. Beside you will most likely be using the SP2K anyway why reterminated in 4.4. Vision Ear did not just throw a cable into it they created the cable for the sound they wanted. The SP2000 and the Erlkonig are both extremely transparent clean yet musical and dynamic instruments you are going to have a treat.

I ordered the Cu version and my friend ordered the SS version. In couple of weeks we are going to meet and have an ultimate blind test. Out of ten times I wanted to see how many times I can guess right.

Mm...I can always special order from Vision Ears the Effect Audio stock cable (2.5 mm) for the Erlkonig now that I have the SP2K.

The SG dealer of Vision Ears informed me 3 weeks ago when I ordered the Erlkonig that I need to specify the terminate. I chose the 4.4 mm. to match the DMP Z1. The SP 2000 was absolutely not in my plans this year....was planning to purchase sometime next year. 3 weeks ago, nobody knew when the dealers will have it on-hand. I did not pre-order the SP2K. It was just pure luck on my part that I was at the right place at the right time.

While at Music Sanctuary SG, I tried the PW Audio 1960 silver. Bass was too thick. Did not like it. The stock EA silver is very good.

I agree with you that 1960s is too thick, paired with katana
