It could well be , still I'm wondering (well, of course anyone can tell this for now):
- If the LCDi4 is good enough to perceive those improvements another user reported with the Utopias, but not with slightly lesser headphones
- If the LCDi4 could profit from the (supposedly) improved SP2000 output power, or if it's already fully served by the SP1000 output power.

LCDi4 is quite revealing and, as far as I remember, scales up quite well, but can't foresee how it will rhyme with SP2K. I remember Jason mentioning that if would not be an issue even to drive the HD800 with SP2K.

As the SP2K will be available later than I expected (I read somewhere that even the mass production of AK4499 started only recently), I placed an order for the KANN Cube. I am pretty sure it will go through any HP you throw at it like butter.

We demoed the SP2000 with the HD800s at High End in Munich and will demo the SP2000 with the HD800s at CanJam SoCal later this month.

Probably.. But I don't think that's likely the case.. Otherwise all of us in this group should forget about using DAP and/or DAC for that matter.. And stick to solely using our smartphones instead..

@JasonNYC Do you expect the price for the SP1000SS to drop when the 2000 is released? I'm trying to figure out what the most appropriate price to sell the SP1000SS for (with all of the original packaging, and i'll toss in some accessories (Cordovan leather case, etc.) for a nice bundle.

Of course it would. Look at the prices the AK380 goes for.

SP2000SS mid-July (around 15th), SP2000Cu end of July (around the 25th). Give or take a few days depending on country, shipping times from Korea, customs, etc.

I also heard similar things from dealers in Germany, even early/mid-June. Then later they said that it will take more time. I bought many things from the same dealer and delivery times were spot on. Maybe there is some miscommunication.

I am frankly not surprised about the availability, as I read somewhere that the mass production of AK4499 would start in May 2019

It could be possible, but in my opinion seeing all the production, pre-order and launch dates, I think it is unlikely. Let me confirm with our UK/EU manager just to be sure as I could be wrong since I am in the US. Official word out of our HQ in Korea is mid-July on stainless steel and late July on Copper. I know most dealers are starting pre-orders in June, so maybe that is where the confusion is.
