Thank you for the update Jason. I had a question on the Kann Alpha - is the battery replaceable? I love the unit and have been listening to it quite a bit, and a fair amount even plugged in from the line out.
The battery is not user replaceable, but AK offers battery replacement service for a small fee. The AK Connect app for iOS and Android will also be updated to fix the embedded Tidal issue. The updated apps will be available in the Apple and Google app stores after the player updates.
Here we again AK, you and your news for updateAstell&Kern has identified the issues users are having with the embedded Tidal app. Tidal has changed the authentication method used when logging into third-party Tidal apps. Astell&Kern is working as quickly as possible to make the required changes in the embedded app.
New firmware updates for the SP2000, SP1000, SP1000M, SE200, SE100, SR25 and KANN ALPHA will be released in May 2021, which will contain an updated embedded Tidal app to fix the authentication issues.
There is an issue with the new Tidal authentication policies on the following players – KANN CUBE, SA700, SR15, CT15 and CT10. We are looking into ways to continue to support the Tidal app on these players. More information will be available in May 2021.
Tidal is dropping support for older model Android devices. Unfortunately this means Tidal can no longer be supported on the following players due to the new authentication requirements - AK380, AK320, AK300, KANN, AK70 MKII, AK70, AK240, AK120II, AK100II.

It should. There are issues with the latest Apple Music app release, which does not work on any AK player. I am also experiencing a number of issues with the latest Apple Music app on my Samsung S21+. I assume they will be releasing am app update before they roll out the new tier of service.

been hearing about your new update from last year even before this tidal mess, and no guarantee that your new update will not brick my KA like my OK.I do not understand what you are asking. Are you asking for an update? If so, still on track before the end of this month as I said in post #1,260.
Are you having issues installing or logging into Tidal via the Android app on the KANN ALPHA?I'm sick of all this. Haven't been able to login to tidal for 2 months. I'm going to cancel soon if this doesn't get fixed. Would be great If I could put apple music on the kann alpha, I get apple music included with my phone plan. Hope their new free high res is good and I'm saying goodbye to tidal.

A&K didn’t create Apple Music or the app. It’s Apple who has to fix the issue. The same goes for Samsung. Never company has anything to react to. So I don’t understand why you would thing these companies can fix another company’s software issues.It's a really strange way of thinking and strange answer from A&K to hope Apple Music will release a new version ... to please A&K or even Samsung users !!!
I am almost sure that Samsung will react as soon as possible, as usual, to be 100% compatible with any Apple Software.
I know now that A&K won't do anything like for the wifi/akconnect drops for so many users.
What is sure is that Apple does almost every month some improvements in their firmware to please their iphone users .. A&K => never !!!!
