Something like this. They are cheap and available everywhere. Made my charge time go from 6-9 hrs via USB 3.0 computer to 2-2.5 Hrs. It charges so fast I have to watch it closely as best battery health is understood to be between 20%-90% for longevity. Charge to 90%, use to 20%, every 3 weeks or so I use the slow charge computer USB to top off to 100%. Try not to let it dip below 20%
Fwiw, I have an SE200 and it runs great without any issues. That's a bummer on the KANN line though. Hope they address the problems.

Thanks but I'm from uk I couldn't find that but I found this: https://gbr.grandado.com/products/s...dPTZ-68sByDx4SRwpzuOeMsJ003g6I1gaAjelEALw_wcB

As far as I know the current don't really matter when the V stays constant and the Kann will only draw the current it required when using fast charging cable, before asking you i bought a charger from ebay which output 9V 2A ill try it if I see the battery heats up then ill stop using it and buy the Samsung Fast Charger.

Kool good to know, can you recommend me any charger that gives fix 9V 1.67A non sm?

may i please ask what "non sm" means please?

thanks.

i have an abundance of Samsung cellphone chargers from a number of past cellphones, so i just use one of them.

i also have purchased one of the fast chargers made for the S20 Ultra, and i specifically made a mental note to NOT use that one as fast equals not-as-good for the lithium cells. i use the typical provided in-box chargers for the various Sansung Galaxy phones.

i usually plug it in when i know i won't be using it for the next few hours and, sadly, i often forget it's plugged in and i end up leaving it plugged in for more hours than necessary, which i know isn't great for the lithium cells. i know one should not go much above 90% full and not much below 15%.

Sorry about that. But that looks exactly like the one I linked anyways minus the euro sockets. I feel so dumb. Ya, different plugs, lol.
It does get hotter with the quick charge fyi, nothing too crazy though.

Absolutely love my new kann alpha but why on earth did they include matte screen protectors. It’s like they’re discouraging you to use it outside of the house. Impossible to see and not to mention the degradation of quality of the screen itself.
Can understand why people are after glossy ones to replace it.

I would recommend a Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 compatible charger if you want to take advantage of quick charging. I believe someone mentioned the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging adapters. Those are QuickCharge 2.0 compatible and work well. That is what I use. Just be aware, there are a ton of fake Samsung chargers out there.

@JasonNYC: like you, i find my original Samsung Galaxy cellphone charging adapters to be working well with my Kann Alpha.

i also bought a super fast Samsung fast charger that came out specifically for the Samsung S20 Ultra a year ago when the S20 Ultra was introduced. i do NOT use this super fast charger for my Kann Alpha because i know that super fast charging is less good for lithiums than more gentle charging (less fast but better for the lithium cells).

i'm trying to preserve the Kann Alpha's lithium cells to the extent i can. sadly, when i plug it in to recharge for a couple of hours, often, i forget and leave it plugged in for more hours (~4 - 5 hours) than necessary. i really only need to plug it in for 2 - 3 hours approximately to go from around 20% up to around 90%. oh well, can't do everything perfectly! i'm hoping that charging to 100% isn't a disaster for the health of lithium cells. hard to know. anyone knows a lot about lithium cells?

You are correct about the S20 ultra fast chargers. I believe they put out too much power, I will confirm.

With current generation batteries, most of the older charging tips are no longer valid. It has been shown that quick charging does not degrade the battery. Also charging to 100% does not degrade battery life. It is ok to leave the players plugged in as the player will turn off current to the battery and just charge it off. What will degrade battery life is allowing Li-Polymer batteries to completely run down to 0%. You should not let the battery drop below 5 - 10%. I've posted a few good articles in other AK threads on battery myths and facts and how the new generation batteries are not as fragile as previous generation and how to maximize battery life. I will find them and share here.

thank you @JasonNYC. i appreciate you reposted the links of those articles. look forward to reading.

are you in NYC and an employee of Astell and Kern? i'm confused. or are you an enthusiast and a fan of A&K products?

it seems like you are very connected and know a lot about A&K! yet, your username is @JasonNYC so i can't figure out if you're a fan or an employee. A&K offices in the US are in California!

thanks for your help!

I work for the US team. Have been with the US team since before the launch of the AK brand. Lived in NYC for a good portion of my life, no longer living there.

Hello Jason
I am sure you follow this discussion here and you probably also saw that some users who use AK Connect report problems.
Is this something AK is aware of?
For me as it is, AK Connect is not usable at all.
An it is not related to any settings. Also using the latest firmware 1.01

Yes, I have been going through all the posts from this weekend and compiling them to send to our dev team. I usually do this on a weekly basis.

@Onik: i was just thinking, considering how @JasonNYC and i, et al, have all had good experience using original Samsung chargers, might it be smart to buy an original Samsung charger from Samsung.com.uk so you'd be certain you're getting the genuine article?

just thinking out loud.

I'd like to hear a decent recommendation too. My web searches "fast charger of 9V 1.67A" hardly give a definitive answer either.

I find aspects of the manual a little opaque and unhelpful at times.

Somewhat tardy in sharing my own charger purchase I settled on the Anker Quick Charge 3.0. £18 so not cheap but it seems to work fine and the build quality is reassuringly solid.
