Hi everyone, I got my Kann Alpha weeks ago, Sony iem M9 (+ FA silver cable 4.4) sounds better than FA A8000+dita olso cable to me. I m now pair up Sony wm1a with FA8000, gives clear and better sound stage than Kann Alpha, may be KA is too powerful to drive FA A8000, whereas, M9 need more powerful device that's match KA better, anyone having the same pair up?

In a way, I would think that the question is more "Does Sony M9 sound better with WM1A & MrWalkman tuned firmware than with A&K Kann Alpha ?"

I am waiting these next days for my own A&K Kann Alpha ...

I know the WM1A is definitely falling short in power and giving a flat boring sound with the Heddphone by Hedd, but sometimes the WM1A has some real difficulties with my Sony Z7M2/Ultrasone Ed15 Veritas (with some DSD) by missing some deep, clear and powerful impacts in low frequencies (as I can get easily get with my standalone THX887 amp connected to the WM1A trough 4.4mm plug)...

But my Sony IER Z1R is rather convincing with the WM1A ... basically I don't expect to use the IER Z1R with the Kann Alpha, as I am almost sure the WM1A will still be more convincing.
It will be nice to discover that the Kann Alpha can give a convincing result too with the IER-Z1R.

Hi all,
I own the kann alpha for a few days now, to my surprise I saw that my internal storage is only 54,9 gb, not the 65 gb thats in the specs. 1.9 gb is taken up by contents (1002,3 mb) and 859.6 for system. I have not downloaded anything and ofcourse Deeze en Tidal (which I use) V link are on it.
Can somebody from A&K comment, or other users, how many gb is on your alpha?

Because in computer storage terms, 64GB really is not 64GB due to number conversions, etc. Then, once the memory is formatted for storage, that also takes up usable space (which will not show as used space).

Here is a good explanation. It refers to memory cards, but applies to any storage device - internal storage, computer hard drives, smartphone storage, etc.

Suprise! :)

Edit: just to clarify, this has nothing to do with the Alpha, it's industry standards. Not saying a agree with them but they are what they are.

Can the Kann Alpha stream Qobuz? I think so after reviewing this thread but I’d like to confirm. Thanks. If so, how do we get the Alpha to stream Qobuz? I go to apkpure.com, right?

It can, however I cannot go beyond 16/44.1 despite the files being hi res

So, there is a limit? No 192khz files will play at 192khz?
