I charge Kann Alpha with my LG V30 mobile phone charger and the cable that comes bundled with the DAP. It has the right specs ... Any smartphone charger from 2017 to 2020 will probably work. The important thing is to charge it with the supplied cable. I hope this helps.

Thank you! Noted on this. Is there a reason why I cant use just any usb type-c cable for charging?

Good quality usb cables usually make the difference in terms of power supply. As long as it is not a cheap cable, I do not think there will be problems ... I honestly will not charge Kann Alpha with another cable other than the one supplied by A&K.

I really like and use the Xelento almost every day
these are very easy to carry for sure :)
My initial impression out of the box is positive, vey nice build. Jut some concern with the thin cable as it can tangle easily. I put them on and was very disappointed at first, totally lacking in the low end. Then I realised I was using under-sized silicone tips. So I moved to XL and wow....things started to sound the way I would have expected. Even better now with the foam tips, but still in the burn in phase, I'll take a close listen in 48 hrs

How do you guys charge your Kann Alpha? I saw a warning on the manual that says “do not attempt to charge using a 12v charger. Device malfunction may result.” It also says that using a separate quick charger (9v 1.67a) should do the trick. Im only using the standard apple charger, the ones that came with iphones. Is it safe to use that apple charger for my Kann Alpha?
Standard Apple charger is fine to use. For fast charging, we would recommend a Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 compatible charger. The Samsung Adaptive Chargers are QuickCharge 2.0 compatible, so those would work also.

The player uses an industry standard USB-C cable, so any cable would work. My preferred third-party USB-C cables are Anker cables, which I use with my Android phones, but that is personal preference and not an official AK recommendation.

I'm using an old Samsung Adaptive Charger as mentioned above..works fine. Also using a adaptive USB charging hub.

Tips are important for sure ..
The Xelento are really excellent, though the Sony IER-Z1R can go with a bit more deeper and cleaner impacts in low frequencies in A/B comparison (with some PEQ on both IEM)
If I am lying down at home, I prefer Xelento as there are much easier to stay perfectly in the ears, and sound no so far in sound quality.

So my 4.4mm copper balanced cable arrived (Lunashop store on Aliexpress). This is the first time in 18 months that I have listened to my Amiron Homes in balanced, (my two desktop amps, although more powerful, are not balanced) ... Well, I am really impressed with how Kann Alpha makes them sing. These headphones have never sounded so good! The clarity is incredible, the harshness in the highest notes of the mid-high range that I perceive at 6.3mm is gone, and the light veil that the Amiron has with the stock cable has magically disappeared! More than happy with the change they have made. :L3000:

Nice!
I just ordered balanced cable for my Xelento, clearly to understand if that makes any difference on the sound signature only, power is not an issue with these IEMs

The sound signature is not going to change, but I'm sure you are going to notice changes and improvements.

Sorry, that’s what I meant, I don’t expect a day/night change

I'm having a love affair with my Alpha. Alpha with Z1R - EQed. Lush sound and SO full.
I changed the cable (to 4.4 99% silver) of my LCD XC (maple) and the base became a LOT better. I should be content but I still have the itch to get the HD820 and change its cable with a short balanced one. My question is, is Alpha capable of powering the 300ohm closed HD820 and bringing out its oomph without a DAC/AMP in between?
