Just got mine. It's much smaller than I was expecting. (this is not a bad thing!)

Anyway, I'm having a heck of a time installing the apps. Has anyone else managed to install anything? I'm going to apkpure.com, download the app (let's say Spotify), then copy that into the OpenService folder on the Kann, then go to the Services menu, and it should be there, right? What am I missing?

Have you installed XAPK installer?. You have to download it and put it in the open service folder... downloaded here... https://apkpure.com/xapk-installer/com.apkpure.installer/download?from=details

I have got my Kann Alpha for few days now. I was skeptical a little before placing the order; coming from Fiio M11 which is pretty good already. I was afraid that A&K DAP will have the type SQ that does not fit my liking. I tried other like HiBy R6 Pro, iBasso 220 and ended up returning those. I agreed with Hifi-insider review. The Kann Alpha with LCD-i4 on 4.4mm are excellent. I am not really a reviewer nor analyze things... I enjoy and appreciate good audio while my ears are happy with SQ. I am also streaming, mainly Apple Music and it's excellent. It's as good as LCD-i4 w/Cipher on iPhone, if not better. I believe, it is better. This was one of the reason I upgrade from M11 to get Apple Music. I am very please with Kann Alpha. For some reason the Kann Alpha won't show up on my car and unable to connect to my car via BT

Perhaps, I will get the USB-C adaptor to try it some day. However, cipher cable alone won't cut it. You need the App that can adjust the EQ to get the most out of cipher. With the proper EQ with cipher is a jaw dropping SQ experience. I don't think, the app is available on Android based devices.

It's a pity, I have bought many AK (70, 240, 300, 380, SP1000m) and from what I recall only the AK70 was sold without a case in the box - but it was not the same price ...

Well, let me put it this way:

At $999 without a case, you are not happy.
At $1149 with the case, you would be happy?

I've seen some people not wanting to use cases with their DAPs, their reasons their own since I prefer a case myself. So I guess it's only fair that you buy the accessories you really want separately. I mean, they don't include stuff for free, when they bundle up accessories with something, you pay for it. At least they make one you can buy, a lot of DAP owners have to rely on aftermarket brands for a case... Sony, I'm pointing at you!

I've seen a new DAP release that comes with a bright yellow case. Facepalm is all that comes to mind...
