Just bought the alpha, do you actually need a pc to sideload the full tidal APK, or can you connect via USB through a smartphone and do this? Because essentially your only drag dropping the files on pc

I just tried to connect the Kann Alpha to my Android based smartphone (Galaxy Z Fold 2), I can access directly to the Internal Storage OpenService directory and copy or delete files. So it should work for Tidal too, assuming you download the correct version.

Ah nice that makes the experience a lot less clunky, I started to worry because it doesn't give you that information anywhere I could find.I just tried to connect the Kann Alpha to my Android based smartphone (Galaxy Z Fold 2), I can access directly to the Internal Storage OpenService directory and copy or delete files. Though, I am not really sure with IOS you can access to external drive so easily.

Given the amount of power this thing puts out I would of thought so, it has a very good dual dap to,on paper It won't have a problemIs the Alpha capable of driving Sennheiser HD800s via 4.4mm balanced well?

I have run my Sennheiser HD660s off the Alpha, and they sounded really good, although I did have to up the amp to the middle setting to get the volume up a bit.Is the Alpha capable of driving Sennheiser HD800s via 4.4mm balanced well?
I know it's not an answer to your exact question, and the 660s are a lower impedance compared to the 800s.
We demo the HD800s with the SP2000 at audio shows all the time. The SP2000 has half the power output in balanced at 6Vrms where the KANN ALPHA has 12Vrms in high gain mode. Should be no issue to drive. For reference, with the HD800s and SP2000, I listen at around 105 - 110 volume out of 150, so there is room even on the SP2000 at half the power. Is the Alpha capable of driving Sennheiser HD800s via 4.4mm balanced well?

What does 12Vrms roughly come to in mW ?We demo the HD800s with the SP2000 at audio shows all the time. about 4,500mW at 32ohmsWhat does 12Vrms roughly come to in mW ?

As far as I can approximatively compare between Centrance M8V2 & Kann Alpha ...
I estimate that for the Kann Alpha for theoritical 12V output when loaded with a 42 Ohms (for my HEDDphone) it's probably less than 2x1.1W (so it means 10V left charged at 42Ohms), when the Centrance M8V2 can produce around 2x1.4W (11V charged at 42Ohms) ....I think IFI Diablo can be much more powerfull.
Then based on this you can evaluate roughly with some calculators like this Watts/Volts/Amps/Ohms conversion calculator (rapidtables.com) for other Headphones
I think I shouldn't be too far from the reality... at least when I do A/B compare both setting in USB DAC mode it's what I get... the Kann Alpha is quite a bit undrpowered for the HEDDphone with some DSD while the M8V2 can go louder and deeper with less distortion.
I imagine when they say 12V (condition No Load) it means only 11V or less when loaded ?

I downloaded the tidal APK, but it will not login, I get this error, I've tried multiple apks all different versions, the embedded tidal app works fine but I cannot download
