yes. We are demoing the SP2000 here in Munich with the HD800s. No issues at all driving them. On the loud show floor, it was plenty loud for me around 105 volume. Turned it up to 110 and that was about over where I thought it was comfortable listening for me. There was still plenty to go to turn it up even more.
Thank you Jason. do you know if this player will work with the legacy PEF 12 , 21 and 11 cables. given the separate audio channels I wonder if this is an issue. also assuming the spacing between the inputs are the same. I know the cable works with a 380 and rumored to work with the SP1000

You should go all in! Don't you want to know if the SP2K as a transport to the Hugo 2 sounds better than the SP1K as a transport? How about SS versus CU?

Oh golly, are we that predictable?! (The answer is "yes" and we all predicted that...)

I've just secured a Hugo 2 so may well use my Black Edition 380 as the transport. WE ARE ALL INSANE, YES.

That's nothing, you could buy both versions of SP2000K for less than one Sony DMP-Z1 at $8500.
