They could have a 4.4mm and a 2.5mm jack. There's no reason you can have one and not the other unless it's a size issue.

Likely the reason why. Lots of circuitry in those daps. Purportedly, Apple got rid of the headphone jack on its phones for this exact reason.

Retirement = living for the future
Hobby = living for this present moments and days

I would live for every second of this present moment and days rather than living for the future....because the future is never guaranteed. Though, you should plan accordingly. But if it was me, I would buy SP2000 and forget all about the Future retirement plans....until I have extra cash

Used 4.4 and 2.5 and do prefer 2.5 just as it's more compact ( eidolic mini superb! )
For me portable wise the 4.4 is borderline big ass phono territory and has no real place in portable gear and offers nothing over a well made 2.5.
Personal choice I guess, the pentaconn is overpriced anyway imo.

Interested in the AKT9iE. I had the T8 but sold them....One of the few earphones I wish I kept but with the release of the 9iE that is moot. I have AK120ii and like the collaborations with other companies. Currently have the final audio AKR03 and enjoy them with the 120ii. Have not tried the Jerry Harvey releases but did have the beyer/ak T5 2nd gen...sold them as they were way too bright.
Just need to generate the funds.......time for another inventory assessment.
I keep saying no more but cannot help myself.

The sp2000 costs exactly the same as sp1000 so it is most likely a replacement. What's the point for releasing the amp module for the dap that is being discontinued? Or maybe it will receive a price cut? But then you already have there sp1000m and se100. It's confusing already.

I think the better question is....Will the SP1000 Amp be compatible with SP2000 too ?

I imagine many SP1000 owners would love the additional power the SP2000 has, but don’t want to spend money on a new model. The amp module then becomes a relatively affordable entry point.

From the picture of the back, there doesn’t seem to be an indication the SP2000 will have add-ons. I like that ... the smallest form factor in a DAP that provides state of the art digital circuitry with ample power to drive 95% of the headphones on the market.

On my wish list.

Is there a rough estimate of when in July the SP2000 is available? Basically wondering that if I decide to buy one, if I’ll have it before I leave to Singapore on the 17th.
Not 100% sure. If I had to guess, mid to late July readily available in dealers to be safe. Let me confirm with the team in the morning.
