that may be the case that Tidal can be blamed for that specific issue; but, it's difficult to accept that when you see something like SR15, which is supposed to be an entry level player, have open APK support and something like KANN which you market as "one player to rule them all" - and is still for sale -- is said to be too slow to handle the upgrade.

I'm sure most people on here don't care about the legal implications and excuses, they like myself see other HW support side loading and offline modes for *any* music app, not just Tidal and we keep getting nothing.

The original question was referring to Tidal embedded app and Open APK was not mentioned anywhere. I was responding to that specific question.

That being said, I personally agree 100% with you @iridium7777 and voice the same thing in every meeting about KANN getting upgraded. Open APK will not run on the version of Android that KANN is on, so it would need to be upgraded to a newer version of Android which includes the new UI. KANN is also significantly different from other players with features not found in anything else, so there is significantly more development that is required. I keep pushing. It helps when owners voice their opinion like this so I can pass it along to the higher ups.

I am also raising my hand. I've owned the AK100ii and now the KANN. They're both great players, but the lack of feature updates on your high-end players is just appalling. It really leaves a bad taste and makes me feel like A&K just doesn't care after they've got my money.

Hi Jason,

I also agree with all the other guys comments about Tidal offline, I am in the UK and have owned a AK 70 and AK 380 in Copper with Copper Amplifier for over two years with only having ever received one update, yet my older Apple I Pod Touch costing £349 has Tidal offline but my AK380 costing over £4,000 does not, totally baffling why not and why this can't be implemented but can be on a IPod Touch.

As I have a Tidal account I want to be able to use it in offline mode on my more expensive AK players not just my I Pod Touch.

Am also raising my hand as another owner who feels that offline support is an absolute must.

Btw, great post, Jason—your support in getting this to be taken seriously is much appreciated.
I'll raise my hand and I don't even use Tidal. Maybe if everyone gets what they want with it I might start.

Hmm can't do anything about it if an RMA is necessary sincs got my KANN secondhand but for some reason JRiver can no longer detect it as a handheld device yet it can detect my phone just fine

The Tidal application needs to have offline support. It's this reason that has kept me from subscribing to Tidal with the Kann

has anyone had to send their Kann in for battery replacement out of warranty? i bought mine april/may 2017 and i'm only getting 4hrs average. this is in most conditions. like this week i was listening to old mp3s with normal output, 4hrs. just curious how much it would cost me.

i actually would just be very happy if some more streaming services could be added to the KANN "Store", such as Deezer. I've never heard of the other 2 services besides Tidal and in my opinion Tidal is not really worth it on the KANN until (if ever) MQA decoding would be available, otherwise you can get the same quality from Deezer.

Does Astell & Kern even offer out of warranty repair services?
