Astell&Kern KANN CUBE

I like that a lot. Right now I’m using Pelican cases with the pull and pluck foam, but the sizing isn’t ideal. Have to go a bit larger than I’d like to fit both the IEM and DAP with adequate protection and space for the cable to not get scrunched.

Willing to pay more for something purpose built and more elegant like this, but $21 for shipping is a bitter pill to swallow. Heck the Pelican cases range from like $10-25 depending on the size...
I'll wait to see if Moon Audio picks them up. Will go well with my Dignis Hakko IEM case with my other audio equipment.

My official KANN Cube case arrived today. The case seems to be very well made and fits the KANN Cube nicely. I am not too thrilled the case blocks the memory card slot. But at least the case is easy to remove.

Any ideas how to block xlr port to make it dustproof?

My Kann Cube should arrive tomorrow, it requires a signature so it may have to wait until Tuesday, we will see. It has been awhile since owning a A&K, I had the Kann for a short time and the older 100 II and 120 II. I am curious to test the Cube against the QLS QA361.

Hi all, m new to this audiophile world. would you mind tell me what would 12Vrms be translated to mW @16/32 ohms load?
If the audiophiles do not calculate differently, we can apply the good old physics studies:
P=U^2/R
12V*12V/16Ω = 9W = 9000 mW
12V^2/32Ω = 4.5W = 4500 mW

Why would you want to know?

Anybody know when this is released in the UK?

Thank you so much for your information. You know actually much better about AK staff. at the Munich 2019, I asked this question to the people at AK booth, and no one can answer. I want to know because many manufacturers use the mW which is, to me, more understandable as I am to this community. Actually, I want to get the Abyss Diana Phi, but also want to bring it to the office. that's y...

Again, thank you so much for your answer.

Quick one, power and sq, cube or n8?

Quick one, power and sq, cube or n8?
Quick factual answer on the first is clearly Cube power over the N8... quick hypothetical answer on the second is N8 over the Cube unless it's a matter of sound signature preference. Not just based on price as that's not everything but AK is certainly no champion of price-to-performance value. Better comparison would be N8 vs the SP2000 or SP1000 on sq alone for AK daps.

Or on a AK thread then the Cube. On the Cayin thread then its the N8.

I had the SP1000 and N8 before. I didn't use a hard to drive HP on N8 but I think powerwise N8 is on par with Cube. Even the SE output is pretty strong and amazing. SQ wise N8 tube output is more fun and sweeter. It is a more complete package too (case, cables), but it is considerably more expensive. I switched to AK for Android and Qobuz.

The AK Kann cube is a lot cheaper than the n8 in the UK. However, I already have an sp1000 so the n8 may offer me something different

The eagle has landed. The first thing you notice is the size... It is large. This is not a pocket carry device. I set it next to the QP2R which is a DAP on the large size, and the Cube dwarfs it. QA361, Cube and QP2R...the photo does not do the size justice. I did not plan on carrying the Cube in my pocket anyway, maybe a pouch or a backpack. It is well built, like a tank. It feels substantial in your hand, but not uncomfortable, which caught me off guard.
