I think the Kann Cube doesn’t work as a Bluetooth receiver, only sending Bluetooth.
wow good to know mate cheers!Seeing the iPhone, didn't even read the rest of the original question. This was a question I asked Jason couple of weeks ago and he mentioned that BT receive mode and LDAC is on the wish list but will not be available during the launch, and the HW is ready to implement the full feature. So might come to the A&K platforms soon but when, only A&K knows.
For those that own this device, how is the overall UI, speed, fluidity through app changes and browsing large file directories? I want to buy one of these, but I can't locate any information on the exact processor uses, core speed etc. I own a 1tb micro SD slot, and its full, so I need a DAP that is fast, and the dual pro 9038's are calling me.
Thanks

New firmware version 1.12 is available for KANN CUBE! New features include Car Mode and EQ Sync.
We found an issue in the initial retail firmware where OTA firmware updates were disabled. It was fixed before shipping, but we discovered a few units may have slipped out with the OTA update disabled. If you cannot update via OTA when connected via Wi-Fi, you will need firmware applied manually. Please visit our website for more info - https://www.astellnkern.com/eng/con...rd=&cg=&goods=SC35560&idx=1000109&page=1&no=6
If anyone has questions or an issue updating, please feel free to PM me.
Yes, going forward updates will be available OTA when connected to Wi-Fi.Oh, OK. Mine was one of those (shows that there is an update but says "no updates" when I try to start it) - manual update worked fine. Is this issue fixed with the update?

Possibly. I will submit the request to our dev team.Ok so I ended up breaking down and purchasing the Kann Cube. It does sound good, better than my M11. No way would I sell my M11 for the Cube. The UI is fast enough but isn't as quick as the M11.
@JasonNYC Do you know if they'll be letting us sideload Plex in the future?

I'm confused... You said optical out is digital. Isn't optical digital to begin with? One thing here: Optical out is digital only and there is no possibility of any kind of noise being carried over the optical connection. So that should make no difference on the sound whatever the source is.
I agree that it is very expensive and will probably find another solution myself. But I think it is not vegetable leather but it is the process that was applied:
"Vegetable tanned leather refers to the tannage, or method of tanning the cowhide into leather. It's called “vegetable” because of the natural materials used in the tanning process like tree bark. Since vegetable tanning is a natural process, it's also eco-friendly."
https://jacksonwayne.com/pages/what-is-vegetable-tanned-leather
And even if it was vegetable (which I would prefer in any case), vegan biodegradable vegetable "leather" products could be more expensive than real leather, and would give a reasonable (kind of) answer to why it is so expensive.
Anyway... I do agree it sounds great. Enjoy your new toy!
