When mine stopped working (the 'A' kept spinning but it wouldn't boot up) I sent it to AK - internal flash memory had failed and they replaced battery at same time (I couldn't find the correct one anywhere though other AK batteries seem to be available i.e. AK120) - repair seemed good value, wasn't too much.
When I have had problems with playlists (slow opening) battery charging or glitches in music files I choose ~DROP DOWN MENU >nut icon>DEFAULT SETTINGS (last one) >INITIALIZE MEDIA SCAN. Takes a few minutes, an icon shows on top bar and disappears when finished. Works every time.
My ak380 player have problem when connecting to amp. The sound volume sometime is low on the left ear. I use 2.5(ba), the problem maybe from 4 pin connector, but i'm not sure. Did anyone get the same that problem?

I’ve had similar issues in the past. I use Auto wax and grease remover applied with a cotton pipe cleaner or a interdental spiral brush. Both are also great for cleaning IEMs ear tips. The pipe cleaners also store them efficiently.
Cheers
I am very happy with my 380 but would love to have Amazon Music HD. Where on the current line up do I need to be for equivalent sound quality. I can’t go back now....
Thanks

I had the Ak se100 and although I did not own the ak380 at the same time to compare side by side, I did not think it quite measured up to the ak380. My best guess would be the ak sp1000m would be comparable to the ak380 sound quality and would be able to side load apps like amazon music.
I recently got my AK380 back from Astell & Kern Service Centre in Germany.
The problem I was having that after pressing the power button so many times my 380 would just cut out while playing music . It turned out the fault was a Defective Power FPCB that needed replacing at a cost of €20 and while it was their decided to have a new battery fitted at a cost of €40.
It's like a brand new device and still sounds fantastic, did some great listening at Harrods and Audio Sanctury in London with the new Empire Ears Hero and Odin.

I haven’t used Tidal in a few years but I became frustrated with lack of newer releases and struggled to find music that I like. Amazon music seems to have just about everything, the suggested channels are more interesting, and (perhaps most importantly) my wife and kids like it.

I still have my AK380+amp - don’t think I’ll ever let it go. But I recently purchased a used SP1000 SS and it was a huge leap in my opinion! I’m happy with the battery life (10+ hours), a big beautiful screen, and side loaded apps (I just switched to Tidal HIFI). The only negative is it’s heavy...but I did read through the entire SP1000 thread and the SP1000m got positive reviews and it’s significantly lighter.
I looked at the SP2000, but I thought the SP1000 had better looks (subjective of course!) and longer battery life - but the cost sealed the deal .
