I have had my eyes on VanNuys' cases for a while now. The reason why I haven't got one yet is due to a huge issue in the design - you cannot access the screen when the player is inside the case. Which means, I have to take the player out of the case every time when I want to switch track. Of course there are ways to cope with that, such as setting a playlist ahead of playing or using AKConnect app, but I don't see why I have to change my using habit to accommodate to a case of such a price. It should be simple enough to open up a window on the case, with a flip-down cover to cover the window when not in use.

Wow this is valuable feedback.  I guess the super caps are breaking in and it clearly effects the sound during this process.  So at the 24 hour mark the bass is more weighty (impact, authority and deeper) with the RWAK380 player then coupled with the amp?  I thought that the balanced connector is passing the information to the external amp so it should sound better in theory.  Also the AK external amp has a lot more power to drive both IEM and full sized cans.  But I think the bass on the AK Amp running version 1.11 is a little boomy for me anyway.

Has anyone heard the 240 vs the 380? Any comments? And also, is there a significant enough difference to warrant an upgrade?

I don't know about the HUGO, but the MOJO's output (properly paired) is quite a bit more impressive than any DAP on the market. Its only problem is its hissy output (same as iPod 5G or AK100).

I have em both. 380 is better. I think the separation of the sound is a lot better on the 380. I don't think the improvement warrant 3500. With the amp connected the AK380 is a beast of a setup.

I am having the same problem with my unit, going from version 1.14 to 1.17.  No system update is being displayed when wireless is on.  Have you found a workaround for this?  Manual file download?

*Are you able to browse the web with another device connected to the wireless.
*Make sure you are in close proximity of the wireless router with limited obstruction
*Stop any downloads or streaming you might be running to free up bandwidth.
