last year it was in May, at Munich High-End trade show.... 

 
 
Come on A&K, give us a AKXXX with:
     1 Tb internal,
     TIDAL + MQA built in,
     OLED screen (I can't read my AK100 screen under the sun),
     a better balanced Amp,
     a "real" line-out,
     and 2 micro-SD slot (or.. 1 full size SD

I still cannot get over how damn good the 380Cu sounds. I mean look at the size of it. As a portable player for In-Ears, it really is unsurpassed!!! 
 
Bringing new life to lots of albums for me...in terms of detail retrieval it has no peers. In-Ears are so intimate, and detail levels that one can comprehend is seriously brain overload if one takes a technical approach to listening. If not, it is just an unabashed pure sounding, natural listening experience...
 
So happy, spending time in this hobby again after over a year's hiatus.

Thanks, spkrs01, but I really don't think the battery is the problem.  Both the amp and the AK380 battery work perfectly if charged separately.  My problem is the AK380 would no longer charge while connected to the amp.  

   
  I see, perhaps last resort is to try clean the contacts between the amp and 380 with alcohol ...otherwise get AK to replace or repair one of the units.
   
  Good luck moving forward, and hope the problem resolves itself!!!

It's being replaced, but you suggestion is also a good one.  If it ever happens again, I'll try that.  Thanks.

mmm....ok Thanks. I guess the offer only applies to Hong Kong residents or who bought the 380 amp there. I wish someone here post their impression of the cu amp vs. the regular 380 amp. I have not yet canceled my pre-order but every day that passes closes my window to cancel.

Well, my purchase and I will probably buy, would be to try using with my Utrasone Edition 12. And left on my desk.............
 
I cannot see it doing much for my IEMs, to be honest, over just the using the 380.
 
But hey, as they say, "never say never"!!! 
 
I will be pleasantly pleased if it does......

mmm.....I totally agree. The cu is the complete package for iems/ciems. Very happy with the cu (stellar performance).  It is a different story though for headphones or is it? I do not have any baseline to fall back to since I did not purchase  380 amp even when I had the 380. Hopefully, the pairing of the cu with the cu amp will yield better results than the 380 and 380 amp. Best case scenario.

I was told the amp could not competently drive TOTL cans such as HD800 et al, but then that is not surprising.
 
There was not any expectations on my part that it could......
 
However, I mentioned the Edition 12 as its is quite a quirky pair of headphones, and the only pair of cans that does not really sound too great out of my Cavalli LAu on my desktop system, whilst all my others sound glorious.
