Are you referring to the screen below? If so, I am able to adjust amp level without issue while having multiple headphones in any of the headphone jacks.
That is weird, since I tried it again and can't. After you click on the icon you see the gain list - can you change them when you click on one? Because I can see the list, but the green check icon does not respond
Ah, finally someone who could help
Thank you. I'm still a bit confused, since none of my other players sorts my albums (without any album artist) in "unknown". Then I will do my best to sort them...manually and album by album

Yes, the one i have allows me to change to any gain setting - Low, Mid, High and Super. I'll pull another CA1000 and will test on that one also in the morning.
What firmware version are you using? Latest is v. 1.07. I am on the CM version.

I opened a brand new CA1000 and confirmed that I am able to select the different amp modes from the input/output screen without issue.
I would recommend trying a soft reset to see if it fixes the issue. A soft reset will not erase or reset any settings or files on the device.
To perform a soft reset - while the CA1000 is on, press and hold the power button for 8 - 10 seconds until the CA1000 shuts off. Once off, release the power button and press it again to restart.

That actually helped. I did a restart before, but the forced restart helped out. It's still weird though - say, could you also ask the dev team if they could change the gain level to be remembered depending on the headphones you select as output? It feels like a missed opportunity there - you have a software select of the output headphones *and* an option for the gain, but when you change the gain on one headphone, you change it for the other one too. Better would be to remember the one and the other (like for the first port I have my HD800 which need more gain, and in the second my Sony headphones for the evening (yes the ACRO is in front of my bed ))
It really is a cool device. I know many don't want it or don't understand where it is supposed to be sorted in, but for me it's perfect.

i agree that it's a cool device and sounds great with everything I've paired with it. What is it about it that you say many don't want it? I'm curious as I've been surprised that they're isn't a thread for it in the forum (or that i found).

The reviews I saw / some posts about the device say it's a weird device that doesn't have a direct place to put it. Don't remember which reviews it were though - it was right before my first post on this thread, since the reviews made me more curious about it lol
I really like it too. It has a really big potential to grow even bigger with some updates and maybe a hand full of features. I listen to it every evening when in bed. It's exactly what I wanted to have
@JasonNYC Just wonder can is it possible to allow installation of youtube music on CA1000? there's many the first take songs not available on other platform and it's better to have access to it even having compromise on the source file quality. Thanks!

YouTube Music cannot be installed as it requires Google Play Services for authentication and AK players do not have Google Play installed on them.
The V-Link app in services is AK's built in version of YouTube and YouTube Music and both can be accessed from the V-Link app.
Not sure. I haven't seen an official timeline of the next firmware updates, but know there are a number pending for all AK players over the next few months, not just the CA1000. Once I have more info, I will share.

My bend on the CA1000 is it a big, absolutely beautiful DAP player with extra functionality (inputs and outputs). I feel it fits the same market as the fiio M17 and Ibasso DX300 Max, which I also own.
I really don’t understand why A&K called it an amp. For one, it should have more power, if it is to be called aN amplifier. I think them labeling this fabulous product as an amplifier is why sales have not been higher.
It is incredibly smooth sounding and and ergonomic. I actually prefer the CA1000 sound to my 300 Max.
I just bought the leather case from Amazon UK- has not arrived yet. I would hate to drop and scratch/dent up my unit. I am hoping this will provide a little protection and increase transportability a bit.
But bottom line- I have owned close to 10 top tier dap players and this may be my all around favourite. Sounds beautiful, black background, huge soundstage. But it is a DAP player, albeit a desktop/bedside/ chair side/couch side/ patio player.
Those are my thoughts…
