I can only think for myself, not others. If you go to a restaurant that doesn't have prices on the menu and bitch about the check when it comes because you can't afford it, shame on you. This purchase is even more transparent, folks know the price of admission before they buy it. Sell it, move on if it doesn't meet your expectations, no one cares. I don't fail to realize anything, I can't possibly know , or care, about someone's finances but my own. You are chiming in without owning it, geesh.
Because you just proved my point - you don’t walk in others shoes and criticize them. People must be allowed to say what they feel and what without someone acting like an as 🤷‍♂️

Dude, if they can voice an opinion so can I. I haven't stopped anyone from saying anything, I have zero power to ban anyone, speak away. If I don't agree I will do so, just as you haven't agreed with me or my opinion about the SP3000, even though you don't own it. The ability to speak or act like this 🤷‍♂️ goes both ways. Just because you don't agree with me doesn't mean I can't exercise my right as much as you or anyone else to speak freely. None of us walk in others shoes. I didn't criticize him, I criticized delivery and shared the fact I don't have the same experience. I am glad I was able to help you prove your diluted point.

It’s the delivery you need to work on… the rest is fine.

Had the delivery been different you wouldn't have felt the need to be a hero, and I wouldn't have responded in my manner. Glad I am not walking in his shoes and have a half-baked, appalling experience, congratulations and so on. Certainly he wasn't contributing, only whining.

Again, sell it and move on if it doesn't meet your standards.

  1. Multiple users with problems with SD cards: when they work, they read much slower than on SP2000.
  2. Multiple people with players randomly rebooting.
  3. The collapsed album list (by author) is not available (available on SP2000 - I don'r get why they realise NOW that needs to be implemented).
  4. Over sensitivity of the double tap when screen is off (can't put it in my pocket without activating the player unless facing outwards - doen't happen with iphone, neither it doess with my HiBy RS6, only with an old Huawei phone - and was fixed quickly).
  5. The music player is not even close in terms of functionality and speed to those of much less premium competitors (HiBy and iBasso): being able to scroll alphabetically by letter to start with.

    This is just what comes up to my mind without thinking too hard about other glitches.

Is that not enough for one of the most expensive and (theoretically) advanced DAPs on the market?


Then mate, if you're an AK fanboy and you're happy to spend that kind of money on a toy with that level of bugs, that's fine. I'm not. But I purchased it, fascinated by its superb sound, and now I'm pretty much stuck with it: those are not things easy to evaluate reading a review or demoing a player in a store for a few hours.
Plus Amazon music don’t play highest quality available as AK currently doesn’t seem to override the Android limitations when streaming. Only download of albums works correctly.

How are you contributing?

I listed the issues. Hope someone from AK reads them.

I find the user experience very poor, opposite to how it sounds. Full stop.

You are free to make love to your ak3000.

I work in user experience and I can tell yo that ak3000s is half baked as it doesn’t cater to multiple use cases.

I don’t seem to be the only one having major issues with it here.

Criticism when valid is equally as valid and important as praise. Telling him to sell and move on is not constructive for any of us. There are issues that need resolution with the player.

I’m stating again what I did before: if I buy a Ferrari I expect a Ferrari experience, nothing less.

Agreed about criticism. Again, for that last time, you have issues, he has issues, I have no issues. While this is no where near the price of a Ferrari, it is expensive. Since cars seem to be the only thing understood here, if I bought a Ferrari and it was not as I wanted I would sell and move on. What you deem not constructive may very well be constructive to others. This is just a classic case of you not agreeing with my opinion and so therefore I'm not free to state it. The same as it is in the real world today, but like it or not others don't share the same opinion. Sorry

And my comparison is absolutely on point: price wise, relatively to a DAP, the AK3000 is like a Ferrari. And you SHOULD expect a near perfect experience. Which is not.

I just expect AK ppl to act promptly on the many issues raised by several people in this cohort, because great customer service should go hand in hand with a great product.

I am sure they will, but you’re not the only one they are taking bug requests from - I am sure. I will by a DAP soon so I am lurking in multiple threads to see how software and customer service is + obviously sound/features/how integrated things are.

Sony is high on my list when I factor in these things, but it’s not as “grand” as some of the others so I am a little torn still. And the 3000 is stunning… to mention one I am still considering

You dramatically speak about YOUR issues. Again, re-read your post. What are you expecting at this point from AK? Replace your transmission? Your original post was rude as well, this the response from me. Your choice, move on or continue.

This should be an open space for praise and criticism. If my experience is different from yours, just accept that mine is not as good instead of ridiculing me. That’s the definition of rude.

Fact, if you read through this thread, I had a 3000 that was defective out of the box. That didn’t have an effect on me getting a replacement. Why? Because my past experience, over 4 AK daps through a period of over 8 years, check my post since 2009 have all been good.

i have faith that this will be resolved over time with firmware, which I also feel can use a little more polishing, but I’m patient and have faith in the brand that it will be resolved.
If however that is not met for u, do what you want with the product, I just sold a mint SP1000 on eBay and fetch a good number after owning it for 4 years plus.
however, I would wait and be a little patient.
