We have all been waiting for an update. High end Munich and the launch of the SP4000 has been their main focus I’m sure.
But my guess is once that’s over they will have an update for us. I think that the better question is, the hardware are not that all different. Will it get the full android and the updated crimson OS or not.
I think that’s been the main thing they are considering. It would make sense and allow the device “3000” to have a longer shelf life.
I think all things are being considered. But they are a business and well who knows.

If you look at the thread for SP2000 from september 2022 onwards (starts at around page 377) you will see that A&K left the owners of SP2K by the wayside pretty much as soon as the the SP3000 was released. We have all been waiting for an update. I think the most we can hope is one more update, then they will stop caring.

I think that example is different. The 2000 and 3000 were miles apart. The snap dragon processor on the 3000/4000 are the same, which is why I’m suggesting or hoping. If you look at the thread for SP2000 from september 2022 onwards (starts at around page 377) you will see that A&K left the owners of SP2K by the wayside pretty much as soon as the the SP3000 was released.

Like I said they are a business so they might just do what you said. Let’s hope not, either way I love my 3000 and I’m skipping the 4000 altogether. Mostly because I don’t see much of a leap like I did when I went from the 1000 to the 3000. I skipped the 2000.
If I get a chance to hear the 4000 maybe I’ll change my mind but from an esthetics and hardware spec I don’t think so.
Those who do great enjoy your device. I live the brand.

Depending on how AK will react regarding Sp3000 model, I will contact NPAUDIO to request for Modd. So that I won’t order sp4000 for any reason.

The ultimate portable combination.
This is the ultimate sound and the best portable headphone that can be produced as a portable device.

Not only that product but also all bluetooth headphones same, SP3000 does not support usb audio out.
Are there any plans to make a software patch for this?(for sp3000, sp3000t, sp3000m)
Among the existing DAPs, especially the flagships, only A&K products do not properly support USB audio out until now(2025).

Congratulation @denis1976
Seriously, how does a player (sp3000 platinium) made by a company, less than 1 year, which was also ordered less than 1 year ago sundenly become obselete ? even no answer to minimal inquiries of users ! this kind of strategy never give proper business. Soon or later customers will find better ! Not giving assess to some of sp4000 functionalities to sp3000 is absolutely not the best way to retain customers.
Astell&Kern it is still not late to provide a firmware for sp3000.

Of course that AK wants that the sp4000 and pd10 grabs all the attention , but i am sure that soon the new firmware will be released, the sp3000 is far from being obselet IMO , is still a great player

I have commented on this subject already. I mentioned in a previous post that the same snap dragon processor is used in the new 4000, which is currently in the 3000.
Updating the 3000 to this new o/s would be a huge win for us 3000 owners.
Will AK do it, that is the 100,000.00 questions but it’s simple in theory and just requires a firmware with the code from the 4000 software features removed that are not available in hardware on the 3000. I’m saying simple, but is it?
AK doing it would win over their loyal customers, me being one of them. I’ve owned AK100 MK II, AK380, AK380 copper, SP1000, and now a 3000. Not counting cases, accessories CD` burner etc.
so, I would like this to happen, mostly because I’d like to not have to side load AKP, not because I want an open Android system, in the end foe me it’s a music player the annoyance of the side loaded apps via AKP is not the end all, but the updates are usually not available in a timely manner and often broken in the APK format. I’m on a rant but I hope I provided enough of The gist.

So "the firmware has a bug...we're updating our servers" was all of that a lie?
