I was wondering: if the Aura iem was made to fully convey the sound of the SP3000, then why does the sp3000 need a dedicated Aura EQ setting?
Also, does anyone know what that EQ setting does specifically?

Cannot comment on Aura but I had Ody and others here plus myself preferred the stock tuning without EQ.

If I may, I think you have the answer in your question!
The EQ does not present itself as an "obligation" but rather as an additional option offered to us to discover how A&K and VE understand their union which is intended to be "exclusive".

The SP3K is suitable for many in-ears and there is no doubt that the Aura will also suit many other DAPs.

In any case, I don't have any questions about it ... I just have a lot of trouble waiting any longer but the deadline is very close....

I view these dedicated EQ settings as something the development team left behind or added for marketing associations.
Honestly I've never liked the results and prefer no tone or EQ enhancement to the music I listen through a given device.
Odds are you'll make your own adjustments in the chain to suit your individual subjective needs.

Yup. I have always had a preference for portable/transportable solutions. The only exceptions were the DAVE+Mscaler stack and the Naim Uniti Atom HE I had briefly.

I found that I am much more likely to listen to music when on the go.

If the wifi access point directs you to a login page after you xonnext, you should get the notification in the notification bar. If you have to manually go to a separate page in a browser you enter user name and password, then it would not work.

Thanks for your answer. Any chance Astell & Kern is thinking about fixing this so it does work with a browser required sign in? This is a pretty big limitation if you travel. Many hotels have this type of sign in. My workplace has this limitation as well. Love the dap but streaming is a key feature.

@JasonNYC Sorry to trouble you but recently there has been some changes to the QQ Music log in page which has made it impossible for me to access QQ Music. The Log in page requires a mainland Chinese mobile number. UNLESS you already have QQ or WeChat installed on your mobile or DAP. So, I have been able to go via that path of QQ being installed for Sony DAPs and other android based devices. However, I don’t see to be able to install QQ or WeChat on my AK DAPs like SP3K, SE300, SP2K and Kann Alpha.

Would you be able to feed back to the software team and see if they can make it so? Much appreciated!

I no longer have a DAVE. It was an absolute joy to use with any iem I ever tried, however.

The sp3k is great but not DAVE-great.

It's an incredible downsizing move coming from Dave + MScaler + Nutopia.
Are you planning to maximize the mobile experience (thinking about 320 Max, N30 plus TOTL IEMs) or keep it rather simple with Sp3k and KR5?

Let's say that I'd rather have money available to allocate elsewhere and not most of it in gear that is depreciating by the hour.

It is all about priorities in life. Especially when you have other expensive hobbies too.
