Jason, while you are at it,
How do you adjust the GAIN on a SE 200?

Surely the volume wheel on the side gives you all the gain control you need?Jason, while you are at it,

Surely you jest, sir.Surely the volume wheel on the side gives you all the gain control you need?

I'm not - there's 150 increments of 'gain' that ought to give you plenty of usable volume range. What headphones/IEMs are you finding unusable with the SE200?Surely you jest, sir.

Mightygrey, how have you become a "Headphones Supremus" and not know that DAPs have a gain setting that can be changed? All my DAPS have adjustable gain. Low, Medium and High or "Turbo" as on the M8.
I like your forum name. Thinking about changing mine to Mightybald.

He literally just became a Headphonus Supremeus from his last message. I was going to butt in about gain settings in your defense but was enjoying the responses too much.Mightygrey, how have you become a "Headphones Supremus" and not know that DAPs have a gain setting that can be changed? Just one old duffer pulling the other old duffer's leg I hope. I really would like to find out where the gain settings are in my SE 200.He literally just became a Headphonus Supremeus from his last message. I think AK only allow you to manually choose the gain settings on their more powerful devices e.g. Alpha, Cube etc.Just one old duffer pulling the other old duffer's leg I hope. I really would like to find out where the gain settings are in my SE 200.

On the SE180 I can choose between low and high gain; maybe the SE200 cannot because it is older? I remember the adjustable gain being advertised for the SE180 so maybe it is a new feature in the SE line.I think AK only allow you to manually choose the gain settings on their more powerful devices e.g. Alpha, Cube etc.

I think Tristy is right, my AK70 does not have gain settings but my AK 380 does. I remember whilst trying some of there new models in Selfridges London one of them did not have any gain settings but I can’t remember which model it was.
Oh then yeah that’s also possible! I know for a fact that my SE200 and SR25 don’t have the ability to switch gain settings while the Cube did.On the SE180 I can choose between low and high gain; maybe the SE200 cannot because it is older? I actually own daps with different gain settings, I just don't see how the SE200 would really benefit from it.Mightygrey, how have you become a "Headphones Supremus" and not know that DAPs have a gain setting that can be changed? If you run your DAP in High/Turbo gain, it tends to sound a bit more dynamic. IMHOI actually own daps with different gain settings, I just don't see how the SE200 would really benefit from it.
