I'm a buyer on a budget and I'm not that much of an audiophile, but from friends' suggestions I'm gathering that sennheiser is an excellent choice. Anywho, I found these CX300-IIs on amazon for $27.99, (link at bottom) but the price seems a little to good to be true. I compared it to the CX300-IIs i found on tigerdirect.com and newegg.com, and i found they costed $59.95! I believe newegg.com and tigerdirect.com are both licensed sennheiser dealers. Even though amazon is licensed, it appears the headphones are actually from "Your Deal" and the order is only fulfilled by Amazon.

tl;dr: are the Sennheisers CX300-IIs in the link below real or fake? / is it even possible to know w/o having them?

It is cheaper, perhaps due to the fact that the seller stock them in great quantity. I am not really sure why. Actually you will be better off with some other earphones. There are much better options than just Sennheiser at the price you mentioned. Take a look at these:
