I wondered how much better the upgrades were, and whether they were worth £30 more. I'm planning on modding them.

Well the HD555's can be modded to be HD595's pretty easily. I'm not 100% sure about any of their sound signatures, just my two cents.

Yep, that's what I've heard, although what I'm really looking for is whether there's a big difference between a modded 555 and a modded 558?

Hm. I really can't help you there. Sorry. I believe the HD558's are really just a bit newer, and you probably won't find a wealth of information on them here on Head-Fi.

they are great phones bro imo better than the hd 555's some ppl have said that its as good as the 595s  for me they're more open and forward vs the 555s
