Received my Define for my Focal Stellia, replaced my Dana Cable. The value to SQ you get from Arctic cables are tremendous.

Nice Define!

I enjoy my Define cables a lot because they're so lightweight and pliable. I also have an Aegis (next step up in the copper line), and though I like it, I find it a bit stiff, heavy, and unwieldy.

What do Aegis and thicker cable users think about the feel and weight of those cables?

I have a Define (4x 26 AWG) on my Meze 105 AER and a Magnus V2 (which is 4x 18 AWG vs the Aegis’ 4x 20 AWG) on my Sennheiser HD800S. I was worried about the Magnus being thick and heavy, but wanted the increased sonic performance that comes with thicker copper (with budget maxing me out at the Magnus or I might have gone even thicker). I am a cable believer, for what it’s worth.

Roy at Arctic advised me that, “the Magnus is much quieter, softer, and more flexible without a sleeve thanks to its custom TPU insulation.” So I got it unsleeved, and while it is clearly still thicker and heavier than the Define, I find it manageable and am willing to live with that for the better sound. The HD800S is very revealing and differences can be heard. Would not be worth doing that for the budget Meze 105.

The Aegis is also available unsleeved, by the way.
