Apple EarPods Thread

Totally agree.  I got the Earskinz and they are a far superior solution than foam earbud covers. I find I need to push the earpods into my ear canal a little bit to get a seal which enhances the sound.  Because the Earskinz are silicon they are way better at sealing the fit in the right place, at least for me.

Thanks for the tip... I just ordered 2 pair.

Wow, just put some covers on my earpods and I'm in the club! I've been looking for top earbuds for awhile and this is very enjoyable. More so than my Sennheiser MX980 or PK1 which sound shrill after listening to the earpods with some foams.

Cool! Earskinz or foamies are definitely the way to go.

For some odd reason I thought that everyone on Head-fi would universally and blindly hate on stock earbuds of all kinds - especially from Apple.

Now I can come out and say that I actually enjoyed the old style Apple earbuds for casual listening from time to time without being afraid :)

Going to go order a set of the new stlye pods now after seeing this thread just to see how it compares.

Agreed.  I have tried both and while the Earskinz are cool, I still prefer the foamies.

I use both - foamies fitted over the Earskinz

I agree, for me the EarPods sound so much better than the Meelectronics I was listening to and it makes me want to buy more headphones! Anyway, if the highs are too fatiguing then putting earbud covers on will definitely roll off the highs.

pls compare earpods with meelectronics a161p which go for like 70$ and u will see th trounce earpods badly

Easy bro. I received EarPods as a free accessory, as such they are fantastic. This is an appreciation thread; I would be more interested in what you think is an upgrade to the same sound in a higher price bracket, such as the RHA 450- it shares a warm sound and seems to have better clarity. Same reason I now have the V6-Stage CIEM's - update to a warm sound. That doesn't mean the EarPods aren't good at what they do.

I think you're missing the point. I'm not short on cash or headphone experience. The earpods sound great. Nothing about it is unpleasant to me. Distortions are not totally audible, audio balance is not too bright, not totally ugly, and it's really comfortable. And it's free.

I'm going to jump this train !

My son got these with his iPod 5 and I tried them briefly, then hated them... they sounded shrill and had a strange fitting.
Than I bought my iPhone 5 and after a week used them while driving my truck. Now I'm completely over to the other side ! They sound amazingly neutral and are comfortable out of the box !

Gonna use these a lot !
