I havent had too much experience with IEMs but they are leagues better than the original Apple earphones, and i do prefer them over the bass heavy & muddy Wooduo 2 IEMS.  I'm looking to pick up a pair of RE-400s, so we'll see how they are.

Dirac is a high-end DSP software which is typically used for digital room correction, but is also available for certain headphones.
They released a free app which includes a profile for the EarPods. You should try it.
