I would like to know if it is any good. I own an astro A40 mixamp doing kind of the same thing but much cheaper. Would it be a good upgrade or a waste of cash?

I have the Headzone with head tracking (I reviewed it for Amazon).  Great for games, movies, outdoor concert DVDs in 5.1,  As a general HP amp, not bad either.  But it was very expensive.  I can't imagine you would want to upgrade.
 
It comes with beyer 880/250s that have the head tracking unit on top.  I sit in front of a nice Samsung screen and play 5.1 DVDs on a Denon unit, very kewl.
