Anyone here using NAIM amplification? XS? XS2? 5i? SN1? SN2?
 
If so, what DAC are you pairing with it?

Paired Nait 5i with Benchmark DAC1.
The DAC1 wasn't quite up to what the Nait can do. Sound was a little sleepy. Still, there was some synergy there -- and at a very low cost.

XS2 + aging modded Eastern Electric Minimax. Have bought and sold Ciunas and Yulong DA8. I could have lived with either but in the end decided to keep the Minimax.
 
I'm still searching for a worthy replacement. Trying to put more meat on the bones for classical music.
 
Will try and borrow Naim DAC V1 and Hegel HD25. These two are way over what I want to spend on a DAC so they would have to deliver big time.
 
After reading a few positive reviews I'm considering the Arcam irDAC as an inexpensive non ESS alternative. But its wall wart power supply leaves me skeptical.

I have Naim SN1 and I just use the onboard DAC, sounds very good to me, better than the DAC on my Pioneer Elite player.

I too think the DAC V1 is too rich for my blood.
 
Would love to find a DAC that pairs well with an XS2 or SN2 for under $1K:
