I'm going to try making my own interconnects using Jon Risch's "balanced connectors" type cables. Has anyone here made this cable?
It would seem a very high quality cable at a modest price. I for one am unable and unwilling to spend $$$$$ for interconnects.

I have made both the "skinny" 89259 cables and the "fat" 89259/89248 cables as well as the cross-connected 89259 speaker cables. The "fat" IC's are pretty good and I did not replace them until I acquired HT truthlinks. DIY Cable has unassembled cable kits and I may know someone that has some 89259 cable left

I have made the 89259/89248 twisted pair cables. I found them to have a better soundstage than the Cardas 300b's (about as high on the interconnect foodchain as I wanted to go) that I was using before at about half the price. I bought the kit from DIY Cable for my first set to learn how to make them and then did the rest from scratch.

Thanks for the help. I'll try a kit from DIY cable. If it works out for me I can make more on my own. The twisted pair cable seems like the best one.
I like what I saw on the DIY cable web pages. Nice speakers too.
