Sent off another email last night to Lee. Hopefully grab a few more answers and see what's what.
Price still makes me waver in putting down, everything else seems fine. How long do you typically get out of custom earphones?
I knew there was one item I forgot to post in the mammoth update above...
Lee said they typically expect around 4 1/2 years out of them. While they are new to IEM's the decades of making ear implants and hearing aids would suggest this is a well tested estimate.
Currently they do not reshell them at the end of this time. They looked at it, but given the low cost it wasn't exactly economical, most of the cost is in labor rather than the drivers/crossovers. I was a little disappointed by this, until the logical part of the brain kicked in... I can buy 2 of these for less than the ACS equivalent 1+reshell... and in 10 years time I'd expect sound improvements to hopefully to have rolled around so an upgrade after that I wouldn't complain about.
