Anyone ever listened to the original Sony MDR-CD900 from the 80's?

I'm just wondering if anyone had experience with the original Sony Electronics MDR-CD900 from the late 80's?

I always wanted to know how does the consumer model compare to the Sony Music MDR-CD900ST. Would the original CD900 be closer to the V7?

I had the V7 bought from the late 80s and I remember that sounded completely different compare to the CD900ST, dare I say the V7 actually sounded closer to the 7506/V6 (I've read some old threads here and they seem to confirm the same result).

With the understanding that the headphones I have are pretty old and used, I have an old pair of original MDR-CD900 and they, to me, sound most like the original V6/7506 models- made in Japan- good but not quite as smooth in the highs or as punchy in the low end as the MDR-V7.  The V7 is still my favorite :)

Sorry to reanimate this post, but I'm interested - I would like to buy the most rich Sony headphones - in terms of deepness (bass) - something which is analogue to the MDR-E484 in the earbud world. Which Sony headphone model do you guys think is the best under this term? The CD900? The V6/7? Or maybe even newer models? Does the old diamond diaphragm has to do with the desired sound?
Thanks in advance :)

I thought the MDR-V7 had Titanium Deposition Diaphragm.
Anyway, from what I read the V7 does have more bass bass than the V6.
I've compared my V6 with a 7506 and I can confirm that the 7506 got more mids and trebles but less bass.
I'm also wondering how the CD900 behaves compared to these.
