Every time I play something with sound after it's been paused I hear a really harsh popping noise. The noise is more intense the longer you leave something paused, almost as if the noise is being "charged up" and then discharging upon pressing play. I've left something paused for 5 minutes, pressed play, and instantaneously had a reflex to cover my ears upon hearing the popping. It was incredibly painful. I was so annoyed with my first Asus Xonar STX doing this I decided to send it back after not coming up with any answers for my problem. I just received my new one today and it's doing the SAME DAMN THING.
I'm positive it's my soundcard because for one, I never had to deal with anything like this with onboard sound. I also tested out my headphones with this card and it does the same thing. This is incredibly hard to look past, as it's literally causing me physical pain. I don't think I should have to shell out $180 to blow out my own ears out over time...
Anyone experiencing this very same problem or something similar that's found a solution?
