I've been a lurker here for a while. This is my first post. (Great site by the way!)

After comparing notes and reviews I am about to buy the following:

Cowan D2+ : I want FLAC, and prefer to have my portable folder structure match my PC.

Either RSA Mustang P-51 or Corda 3Move.

Shure SHR840

I currently have a 30GB iPod classic, and some mediocre Bose on ear headphones. I had UE TF 10's for a week, but just cannot tolerate IEM's. They did have nice sound though.

I listen almost exclusively to older jazz from the 50's and 60's. (I'm a *huge* Wes Montgomery fan! :)

Am I matching things up ok? Is this a good combo? Experienced advice welcome.

Regards,

Dave G.

Well, instead of purchasing a Cowon D2+, I'd suggest you to buy a Cowon D2 and later install D2+ Firmware on it. You can get roughly twice the amount of memory for half the price.

Planning on following a similar route, but I'm not too fond of the D2 sound quality...having listened to a friend's 5.5Gen Ipod w/ and LOD and same amplifier, there seemed to be more texture and depth to the music (same iems btw), but IEMs are IEMs and Headphones are a different matter.

I hope someone with more experience would reply, since I too am interested
