(You wish Diana and Norah were there with you, not that it SOUNDS like they are - I'm sure it does, as I've heard your HD300, and know how sweet it can be with female voices. However, I know they were not there, because they were at my house last night singing to me

fwiw, Mike, I posted some meager thoughts on the HD300 in the Florida Meet thread.

So glad you brought your Eddie Current to the meet - added a lot, and we sure did have a grand old time.

I think you guys have a good thing here - should get better as break in continues, so keep posting.

Does the HD 300 use 6AS7G or 6AS7? The Eddie site says 6AS7.

6AS7 and 6AS7G are used interchangeably. But its the same tube. A military version of the 6AS7 called the 6080 or 6080W can also be used.

Anybody think they will do this mod it the future???The following is a quote from another thread from early spring:

"Craig mentioned to me that he had been thinking about adding the paper & oil caps to the Roach to get the next big improvent in performance. These caps alone cost over $500 for two, thus the increase from $400 to $1200. It would be a different model than the Roach."

The Roach, as mentioned, is the the first HD300 prototype.

I had mine shipped by FedEx and found it on my doorstep when trying to leave the house this morning, they didn't ask for a signature.

You take a screen with little holes in it (kindof like a window screen), they aren't made of silk anymore but some other more durable material, and coat it with green emulsion in the dark, oil up a picture and put it on top of it, then expose it to a specific amount of light for a variable amount of time. Any of the emulsion that has been hit with light washes off with water, any that hasnt hardens, then you use ink and a roller and some pins to keep the paper in place with the screen on top of it and press your print.

I just got mine today, the build quality is fantastic, been listening for about a half hour now.
