I have a properly broken in set of AKG 702's which I have coupled with the NuForce uDAC2-HP. I also have some hearing loss due to multiple ear infections, I have tubes in both ears.

My problem isn't with clarity but with volume. I borrowed my partner's FiiO's and fared no better. I'm driving my rig with a 64x Win 7 PC.

I have an old but reliable HeadRoom Airhead amp. Can I somehow use this to boost the power of the NuForce?

Unfortunately, because I'm on disability, I don't have very much money to spend on this. If I can't use my old HeadRoom's, is there another inexpensive solution?

For what it's worth, I mostly listen to female vocalists. With the AKG 702's and the NuForce amp, I've discovered all sorts of vocal nuances which I had not previously heard. My issue is simply one of volume. What 90db sounds like to most of you sounds roughly like about 70 db to me.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
