Annual NHL Play-off thread.

Woohoo, been waiting all year for these few weeks. Can't wait to see my Rangers on Thursday. If I could I would watch every single game of the playoffs period. It's going to be unbelievable this year

Anyway, I hope we at least make it past the first round this time around. I have a good feeling though.

Man, I can't wait to see my Bruins in the playoffs.....

Maybe in 2015

I'll still watch the playoffs, and may likely enjoy it more without the heartbreak of the Boston Choke-Masters losing in the first round. I enjoyed much of last years games.

If I were to root for a team, it would probably be the Sabres.....

Boy, I am just so happy they got in, I don't even care how they do in the playoffs.

So am I...I almost gave myself a hernia when the Devils tied it up with under a second to play last Sunday. Just an unbelievable moment right there...There was no-way the Isles were going to come back from that crushing blow...But, as usual, wrong again. Actually the real reason I was rooting for them was that I didn't fancy the Leafs in the first round..or Montreal either for that matter. I hope the Sens and Pens knock the stuffing out of each other in that match-up as I think they might be the teams that could snatch it all from us.
Coming out of the West it's gotta be the Canucks or the Sharks. Detroit never impressed me and I think the Flames will take care of them, the Preds are just a dirty hockey team but the Ducks? Hmmm...well now...they could be the big spoiler from that conference.
By the by, anybody here read Bucci on ESPN.com? He knows what he's talking about (as I so clearly don't

)and at least has a clue about music to boot...
Tomorrow night can't come quick enough...!

Nashville may have Tootoo, but the Ducks led the league in fighting majors if I'm not mistaken.

And yeah, Buccigross rocks, even if he ignores my emails about Marc Savard.

Well, after the "pleasure" of watching the Leafs lose out through a game they didn't even play, It's time to pick another.

Ah well (dons flame suit), the Leafs didn't deserve to make the playoffs and they certainly didn't deserve to win. People curse bandwagon jumpers, but I'm cursing the boring, yet stalwart Leafs fanbase for supporting them unconditionally, making it easy for the brass to jerk around and appease the shareholders while we extend our cupless streak year by year.

Ultimately, I'd like the semi-finals to come down to:

Ottawa vs. Islanders
Vancouver vs. Minnesota

I think what we'll actually see is Buffalo vs. Detroit.

And lord help us if the Devils make it all the way. Booooorrrrrrringgggggggggggg. The only team in the league that can't fill their arena in a final round game 7.

Montreal never made it in.

About the leafs, you're right...they didn't deserve to make it to the playoffs. I have heard so many people (I live in SW Ontario and a lot of my friends are leafs fans) complain that the leafs got shafted by NJ because they didn't play Brodeur. That's complete BS, they fell short by one point...and as we saw they had every opportunity to pick up an extra point or two near the end of the season. They sealed their own fate...sad thing is that if the fans get upset enough to stop going to the games, someone else will be right behind them to buy a ticket...and it seems like that is all that matters to the leafs brass.

I was thinking more about Hartnell. And I always figured fighting to be agreed on by the two combatants, vs the spearing and crape they get away with.
Post your emails about Savard here...we'll read them.

Ottawa vs Pittsburg is going to be a killer series. Unfortunately, Ottawa will choke as always, perhaps in 7, and that will be that... No great shame against a team as youthful and talented as Pittsburg, I suppose.
Semis: Pittsburg - Buffalo, Detroit - Vancouver, and finals battled out between Pittsburg and Vancouver... Probable? Who knows, every year I get my bets wrong...

Sheezy. The Nucks and the Stars are taking their sweet time in deciding Game 1... 1 OT period down, scoreless (in OT) so far!

4-4 tie!

Go Sharks! I don't really follow hockey, but nice to see San Jose doing well for once.

Edit: Ugh, if Cheechoo is out for the rest of the series will that be sad times for them? :/
