Super disappointed in Hifiman. When will this trend of ridiculous priced flagships come to an end?
So then, a $14K Stella amp is just about fine, but a $6K headphone is bloody murder?

They will probably drop the price when the v2 comes out so all the people who paid $6k take a hit.

I waiting for them to come out with headphones that sound so good they cost $10,000!
I used to own the HE-6 and still own the HE1000 v1 and love them.
I saw and listened to the Susvara @ Axpona. At the time did not know their price and my understanding was they were the HE-6 replacement. I though the built quality was similar to the HE-1000 and the sound not much different either. To be honest while I was listening to them I though their price would be in the $2K-$2.5K then I asked about the price and almost fell of my chair! Sorry but I can not find a way to justify $6K. As i said, I love the sound of my HE1000 but this prices are pushing me away of new acquisitions....

Wow! The thought blows my mind.. $10,000 would be a lot of good-sounding! Every time I think we've reached the pinnacle of good-sounding someone comes up with $2000 better-sounding.

I don't even recognize this company any longer. There was a time when their headphones were incredibly good dollar-to-performance items. But man, what the heck happened after the HE-400i?

I know right... this upward escalation of price gouging needs to stop. $6000 for a pair of headphones, no thanks. How much do the materials even cost to make these things? Will the next flagship be $8000? You're killing this hobby the same way the speaker industry spiraled out of hand in regards to absurd prices. Head-Fi is supposed to be the alternative for audiophiles that can't afford 10 thousand dollar speaker setups etc. For an 18 thousand dollar headphone amp/headphone combo what kind of proper stereo setup could you get.

Apart from HE-400S and HE-400i, I dont know what to think about their current offerings. This is just not the brand I so adored back in the days. The classic line (HE5, HE5LE, HE6, HE4, HE500, HE400) will always remain in my memories as one of the pinnacles of headphone listening of the last decade or two. Especially HE500 and HE6 are still phenomenal.

The Surströmming is finally here? I'm so excited, I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!
It's worth it for a heritage grade product with rock-solid long-term support. This will be the flagship to which others aspire for YEARS to come, you mark my words.
Either way, $6k USD? For HFM "quality" construction? Not for me, thanks.

wow - I am too poor to afford this. I think I have my fair share of expensive headphones, but I think its time to stop looking at the new best thing, and just have fun with what I have.
I paid 150$ for my he -4, 600$ for my HE-6, 1100$ for LCD - X, and 1300$ for the HE1000 v1 - my collection is now complete, and I cant justify spending more. Good luck Hifiman, I am sure this will sound amazing, and people will enjoy them, I have always had good experience with your products besides some extremely minor (negligible) issues

Hey, don't knock the price, with a 45% positive review discount, it's only $3.3K!
Oh, come on! Then it wouldn't be the Susvara 6K Edition anymore, wouldn't it? It'll ruin all the carefully crafted marketing, brand image...
