Why do people assume that the reason people hate something is cause it's mainstream or popular? That may be true in some cases, but not all. Taking some of us as fools already shows the elitism in the fans. You're not special cause you like anime! You're not part of some secret society or anything. You're just like everybody else, so live with it.

I know that. But remember, America isn't Japan. We're supposed more knowledgable about differences between cultures/races in the great us of a. We have much face-to-face experience w/ different peoples compared to japan and china and stuff which primarily consist of their own kind. Also, I don't care if someone doesn't know my where I'm from. But at least acknowledge it when I tell them. I've told people my race and they still call me chinese or something. "Asian" would be fine. I've actually had people tell me I was *wrong* when I said I'm not what they thought. Also, I wouldn't continue to call a german guy british (if he told me beforehand), but I would call him european.

Okay, that's a little different than this. No one cares if someone like asian/black/white media and culture, just realize that YOU AREN'T ONE OF THEM. You've never been in our shoes, and vice versa. So when people say they relate to asian culture or black culture but are obviously have no real f**kin" idea, it's gets annoying.

Ok, but let's be fair here. If I were to go to, say, Japan, I bet I'd get the same kind of responses. Also, lots of Asian people seem to get upset/insulted if you can't tell where they're from. "How could you think I'm Vietnamese? I'm Laotian, dumbass." In Laos, no one would be able to tell if my background is Irish, English, German, Swedish, Dutch or whatever |

Soon you will not be allowed to listen to a band because you don't come from the Bands town. |
