Has anyone seen any reviews of USB C > headphone dongles? I just got Pixel 2, and the Google one is decent but not great out of the box. There is a guy over on XDA who has been reviewing some. See...

I have not tried it yet, but he also did a mod to "fix" issues with the stock Google one. He says it improves quality and power. Apparently DAC output volume is set to max, which causes distortion (while Android volume is set low). According to him, the same Android settings limit output of things like Dragonfly as well.
There are a number of these out there build on the proper standards and work on phones besides the ones they were designed for. For example,
Google
HTC U11
Razer Phone
Some available on Amazon (and some of these have decent quality DACs)
Plus there are some others a little nicer in the works.
Anyway, I would be curious to hear anyone else's experience with these.
Cheers!
