Hey Magick,

How would you recommend I increase the sub bass on the Philips?

I am also changing the pads to Audio Technica AD900X from the current nylon/synthetic stuff. Should help with the

clean up the bass and provide more rigidity to it as its a bit boomy at the moment.

Did you try the mod I wrote about?

Might want to re-read the post, you don't need to open them (and opening them messes them up quite a bit, due to them being glued shut).

yes, it's sort of a dense foam rubber, sorry.

I got them from Catch of the day.

Thanks for that, I haven't been on the site for ages, the promotion emails tend to get deleted.
Ordered - now all I need is some EPDM butyl

Is the type of rubber/foam important or is it just to lift the pad higher?
Thanks for this mod (and the T50RP I did previously), this is my last ever headphone + 1

I tried a less dense foam and it caused an odd resonance and did nothing for bass extension, so I used the densest material I had on hand, which was that rubber, and it finally worked.

The 4mm is what I used, though I would have used 5mm if I had it. You don't need a very large sheet, of course.
